This one is from a truly insane evening late in may. I shot this around half an hour after midnight. The whole evening had already proven to be extraordinary. A blanket of pitch black clouds had created the most magnificent display of colour and drama you can immagine.
I knew that the midnight sun would appear in this spot at exactly this time and i wasnt disappointed. The dark clouds darkened the whole scene and the sun was intense in the gap between sea & sky. An extremely difficult shot to pull off because of the enormous dynamic range.
This may not seem real, but this is as close to reality as i was able to come... I just love how the sunlight is showing through the blueish water over the rocks.
I wish i had a reverse grad for this scene, but i still managed to get some detail out of the sky. It was a sick night...
This is so insanely beautiful! I would just stood there watching! I'm so happy photographers like you exist to preserve such breathtaking vievs... I mean you can't just take a photo with a mobile phone and that's it. It takes so much skill and dedication...
