This is more or less straight out of the camera. Shot it when i returned from the mountains the other day. I am really scared of the dark so normally i would run for my life when darkness comes creeping, but the atmosphere was too cool to let go.

30 sec exposure

This is more or less how the rawfile looked. I toned down the upper part since it was too bright...

this is one of those things that speaks levels of things to your soul, d00d... not to sound corny, but this seems to have a lot in it that could say +/- things to anyone depending on their perspective in life. it could say scary things or comforting things... er-well, everything can by that rule "beauty is in the eye" & all, but this is oddly neutral. it really can say anything anytime. if your upset, it can show it's "mellow chill" to ease things down for you, or it can be where your nightmares jump out of. for me, personally, it's a neutral that serves me in a positive way. i feel if i looked at it while happy, it would sing with me like a friend who takes joy in my good mood; if i'm scared, it would wrap me up in a blanket to make me feel safe... normally this isnt so with other pictures. "energetic" images only really resonate with me when i'm feeling energetic, or depressed pictures when i'm depressed, & so on. this one's oddly flexible, like it was a personality all it's own & is like a friend: it's the exact type of hug i need no matter when i need it. be it a celabratory hug or a comforting one.
to be honest, this confuses me a little. i've hardly ever seen such a flexible effect in a picture... cool, tho! ^5

This is a beautiful shot! I'm glad you stayed out long enough to get it. As for the light that comes through the trees at the top; don't change it. Here's why; you darken the light at the top and tone it down so the picture is a little more dark you still have the reflection of all that light in the water.

It is a beautiful shot just the way it is. :D
